Pretty much the same response that my other favourite film in the last few months, Oye Lucky, received.

Also, I never really got the sense of Farhan's 'hunger', even though he mouths a few lines about that.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15261467171675384769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7024210672199702325.post-66161535701176394442009-02-03T10:25:00.000+05:302009-02-03T10:25:00.000+05:30Hey Navdeep, glad you concur. I spoke to Anuradha Parikh yesterday, who was responsible for the excellent production design, and she clarified that the film wasn't shot more or less in sequence. So that surmise of mine is wrong, it's just a coincidence that the second half comes through as less carefully detailed than the first.
There is, as you point out, a clear insider / outsider split in response. We caught the film at Suburbia last Friday, and there were many people in the full house who weren't enjoying it as much as Jabeen and I. The reverse is usually the case.Girish Shahanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16877402074547726173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7024210672199702325.post-49898634482157166512009-02-03T09:29:00.000+05:302009-02-03T09:29:00.000+05:30I really, really liked the film but had quibbles a...I really, really liked the film but had quibbles about pretty much the same things you point out.

Konkona's bookends pointed to it being her story but somehow the focus never came to rest on her. It felt as if somewhere along the way the producer said; 'female oriented films don't work these days - let's see more of the guy'

Still, minor issues aside, I enjoyed the film but can understand why someone not 'into' films might not.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15261467171675384769noreply@blogger.com
